ABOUT THESE MAPS

QPF (Quantitative Precipitation Forecast) maps show the expected total rainfall accumulation over a 24-hour period. The Excessive Rainfall Outlook (ERO) identifies areas where rainfall may exceed flash-flood guidance — the most critical life-safety product during tropical events. Colors range from light green (<0.25″) through yellow, orange, and red (>4″). During a hurricane, watch for the 3-day cumulative total — tropical systems can drop 10–20+ inches.
